Finally, the three points were quite difficult to secure because, even though Nicæa started the match very well by leading 3-0 then 4-1, Benjamin Domer’s players struggled more afterward. However, they managed to maintain a slight advantage over the visitors in the second and third periods before confirming their victory in the last minutes and pulling ahead on the scoreboard in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
A match won by a team that was homogeneous and complete in the different facets of the game. Indeed, swimming speed largely contributed to offensive success, while defensive rigor perfectly thwarted the opposing attacks.
