Built in 1900, the Palais de lโagriculture, listed in the Additional Inventory of Historic Monuments since 1991, is one of the few buildings that reflect the former state of the Promenade des Anglais. Beyond its representative character of Belle Epoque architecture, it is the value as a heritage landmark that the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, under the initiative of Mr. Christian Estrosi, then President of the Departmental Assembly, sought to preserve by providing crucial support from the Department for its restoration.
The restoration program consisted of two phases of work:
โข the first phase involved setting up scaffolding, reinforcing the structure of the building, and restoring the glass roof, terraces, and roofing. It took place from November 2006 to October 2007,
โข the second phase involved the renovation of the facades and their decorations. It occurred from September 2007 to March 2009.
The cost of the work (studies, 1st and 2nd phases) amounts to 1,503,000 euros. The General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes funds 80% of the work costs and 60% of the studies, totaling a contribution of 1,194,400 euros.
