Following Nice’s application to become the European Capital of Culture in 2028, the Collective of Nice Artists is eager to support this initiative. An exclusive presentation took place this Friday, January 20, at lโArtistique, an iconic venue located on Boulevard Dubouchage.
It was this Friday, January 20, that the Collective of Nice Artists officially announced its support for the NICE2028 application. This initiative aligns with the vision of this bid, which aims to extend its cultural impact across the entire Maralpine territory. The presentation took place within l’Artistique, a true temple dedicated to art in all its forms. This iconic venue in the city becomes the new HQ for the NICE2028 team, notably thanks to its auditorium that can host unexpected encounters. The unexpected, moreover, is an integral part of the theme chosen by the City of Nice for its application: “Connecting the Unexpected”. A desire to extend the cultural vision towards the unknown, new surprising horizons offering novel artistic visions.
The Art of the Virtual
We had the chance to get a preview of this ambitious vision with invited artists who honored us with their presence. First, Patrick Moya presented his artistic project of a virtual world. A connected universe reproducing well-known places in Nice, notably l’Artistique, that need no introduction. This fabulous project perfectly embodies the ambition of NICE2028 to connect imaginary, truly unexpected worlds.
A Surprising Guest
Always with the intention of surprising us, we were able to witness the crystalline talent of an exceptional artist. Alicia Fabry, a dancer at the Nice Opera, enchanted us with the music of The Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky. A moment of escape offered by this dancer as light as a zephyr.

A Grand Finale
To conclude this presentation, we had the privilege to listen to the prodigious voice of the baritone Richard Alexandre Rittelmann. A true maestro who performed Nessun Dorma, the absolutely sublime musical work of the great Puccini. An opera performance we had the chance to experience within the iconic venue that is l’Artistique.

This presentation at the new HQ of NICE2028 demonstrated the strong involvement of the Collective of Nice Artists in supporting the application for the potential future European Capital of Culture. A commitment reflected by these high-caliber guests, as surprising as they were unexpected.
