The Nice-based graffiti artist Otom acquitted

The street artist from Nice, Thomas Debatisse, has been found not guilty in the Seychelles.

Thomas Debatisse, also known by his artist name Otom, had been charged with the murder of his partner during a trip to the Seychelles last April, a vacation that turned tragic when the lifeless body of Emmanuelle Badibanga was found hanging in their hotel room.

Murder or Suicide?

During a lengthy trial, the Seychelles Supreme Court delivered its verdict on the Otom case, and the jurors seemed unanimous. Indeed, the 35-year-old artist was found not guilty, with the murder theory dismissed due to lack of evidence, allowing him to return to French territory as a free man and put an end to what he experienced as a true “humiliation.”
