jpg_carnalval-2010-2.jpg From North to South, West to East, almost all Territories are actively preparing a carnival in their neighborhoods, with the collaboration of the Territory Directions, the Leisure Activities Management, the Youth and Youth Leisure Centers Directorate, the National Police CLJ, school groups, and numerous neighborhood associations.

An unprecedented mobilization is taking place in the neighborhoods to demonstrate the creativity of the people of Nice around the great convivial festival of the Carnival.

HIGHLIGHT FOR THE YOUNG MUNICIPAL COUNCILORS AND NEIGHBORHOOD CHILDREN!

The Children’s City Council wanted 250 children from the Municipal Leisure Centers to participate in the Mardi Gras parade on February 16; they will accompany the float of His Majesty Carnaval. The Children’s City Council will also be present in the stands.
Additionally, 750 children from the Municipal Leisure Centers will participate in the various neighborhood Carnival parades!

Place Garibaldi, which becomes one of the most lively places in Nice, will host the Med.Art troupe, Dual Danse, the Colombians from the Cรดte dโ€™Azur, big heads that will lead you into an unprecedented carnival animation in the streets of Vieux-Nice, from Place du Palais de Justice to Place Garibaldi!

Children’s Carnival in St Roch โ€“ Wednesday, February 24 at 10 a.m.

Departure in front of Jean Giono Garden: Children are invited to this neighborhood carnival where bags of confetti and sweets will be distributed for free.

The Medโ€™Art troupe and the Carnival Dโ€™Ousilhao (Portuguese) will parade with the children throughout the route, which is as follows: Departure in front of Jean Giono Garden, Rue Humbert Ricolfi, Avenue Denis Sรฉmรฉria, Rue Fornรฉro Mรฉneรฏ, return to Jean Giono Garden.

Carnival of Ariane Thursday, February 18, 2010 โ€“ Gathering at 1:30 p.m. Rue Picard: Carnival parade, with floats, costumes made by residents and neighborhood associations, musical groups: Rue Gรฉnรฉral Saramito, Rue des Bleuets, Rue Emile Ripert, Boulevard d’Ariane, Rue du Comte Vert, Rue Amรฉdรฉe VII, Chemin des Chรชnes Blancs, Rue Anatole de Monzie, arrival at General Lรฉcuyer Garden.
Under the guidance of the ATE, Cal, and Cedac Django Reinhart, King Lallin will parade in the streets of Ariane surrounded by musicians and dancers of numerous associations, dance groups with Hardi (Afro-Caribbean) and young percussionists of Alizรฉs, active women, costumed groups. This carnival is also one of the oldest traditional carnivals in the Bon Voyage, St-Charles, Pasteur neighborhoods with the active, dynamic participation of associations and cultural and youth centers in the neighborhood. A grand parade will beautifully conclude the carnival festivities of the neighborhood carnivals. The Village, House of Solidarity and Sharing, will participate in the carnival.

PLAINS AND HILLSIDES

Friday, February 19 at 1:30 p.m. โ€“ Parade at Les Moulins, Saint Augustin โ€“ Departure Place des Yuccas (CAL Saint Augustin).
It is the return of a great carnival parade within the city of Les Moulins, numerous associations are preparing the biggest carnival charivari with wacky costumes and instruments on the theme of sustainable development.

The Saint Isidore School Group is organizing a carnival on February 23 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The children will parade with a music troupe on the road leading to the school.

The Cรฉdac of Saint Antoine Ginestiรจre will set up a mask-making workshop and a face-painting workshop for children.
