The Nice Chamber of Commerce now wishes to reward the best restaurateurs of the Alpes Maritimes. Therefore, it will grant them a title of excellence as a “Maître-Restaurateur.”
Azur region restaurateurs can now aspire to the honorary title of “Maître-Restaurateur.” To achieve this, they must meet certain criteria. The products used by the restaurant must be local and high-quality. They must come from the region, being authentic and fresh. These elements are key to success in obtaining the passport for the label and/or the title of “Maître-Restaurateur.”
The label is designed to reward distinguished restaurateurs. “It will help defend the interests of a profession,” explains Théo Mansi from the national association of Maître-Restaurateurs, adding, “it represents our commitments and is a daily battle.”
This title is specific and unique to the department. It highlights the Côte d’Azur, a tourist region visited by tourists and congress-goers throughout the year. To date, 52 restaurateurs have obtained the “Maître-Restaurateur” designation, with 60 contenders currently vying for the title.
Publicity is necessary to increase the label’s notoriety
Effective communication will help make the “Maître-Restaurateur” title known. Airports (including Nice’s) will promote the image of this new label. The internet will remain a key source to further enhance its notoriety. Azur tourism offices will also have the role of promoting the “Maître-Restaurateur” title.
