During a conference held yesterday, Wednesday, October 6th, Christian Estrosi presented the future of congress, exhibitions, and show activities in Nice. He specifically plans to establish new venues dedicated to theater and large events.

### Replacing the TNN

In January 2022, the *Théâtre National de Nice* will be demolished, and the city plans to replace it with four new venues. These changes will support Nice’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture in 2028. Thomas Aillagon will serve as the Deputy Director General in charge of culture.

The Church of the Franciscans: A hall accommodating 300 people will be set up and is expected to open in the first half of 2022.

The Palace of Arts and Culture will replace the current exhibition center with an 800-seat hall expected to open for the 2025/2026 season. The green flow will extend up to the entrance of this palace.

A temporary structure will be installed near the Nikaïa Palace in the first half of 2022, pending the completion of the Palace of Arts and Culture.

Iconic: By the end of 2022, the *National Drama Center* will have a new 500-seat hall as part of the Iconic project.

### The Future of Congresses

The *Acropolis* space will be demolished starting in 2023 and replaced by a new *Exhibition and Congress Center* built on the *MIN Fleurs* site. This center is expected to be completed in early 2027. Meanwhile, the *Nikaïa Palace* will temporarily host conferences.

The city’s mayor promised a new congress center that will be “greener, more digital, and fully connected to transport,” also assuring that it will be “30% larger than the current Acropolis space.”

### Business Tourism

Christian Estrosi announced that by 2023 there would be 30% more hotel rooms—mostly 4 or 5 stars—in order to continue to attract business tourism.
