Since this Monday, the Conservatoire of Nice has a new director. Thierry Muller, previously in position in Grenoble, succeeds André Peyregne who has exercised his right to retirement.

Thierry Muller is a Director of a First Category Music School, which is the highest grade for Conservatoire directors in France.

Coming from a family of musicians, he has been involved in music from a very young age. He is an accomplished flutist and also a composer.

He was chosen among 20 candidates and has recognized managerial, pedagogical, and artistic expertise.

Thierry Muller was born in 1964 and pursued his musical studies at the Conservatoire National de Région de Rouen, then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in flute, analysis, and harmony classes.

He holds the C.A. (Certificate of Aptitude) as Director of an Approved Municipal Music School and the C.A. as Director of National Schools of Music and Dance.

He was appointed Director of the Municipal Music School of Cany-Barville in 1988, then of the Municipal Music and Dance School of Sotteville-lès-Rouen, where he has been serving since 1991.

Since 2011, he had been the director of the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Grenoble.
