The Nice Tourism and Convention Bureau held its usual start-of-season conference.

prom-party.jpg It was at the Westminster Hotel, along the Promenade des Anglais, that the Nice Tourism and Convention Bureau organized its traditional conference to discuss the start of the tourist season, the new features of the French Riviera pass, and the prospects of the “Nice destination”.

This meeting was an opportunity for Rudy Salles, Deputy Mayor of Nice, in charge of tourism, international affairs and neighborhood animation, to present a 1000€ check to the Lenval foundation. This money, raised during a Zumba class held during the last carnival, is aimed at maintaining the neurosurgery service in the azure capital.

The official also reminded that Nice is the second French city, after Paris, hosting the most Chinese tourists, and the first destination in France for Sunday shopping.

Finally, he hopes that “Nice will continue its upward trend and be more than ever, the locomotive of the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region.”

Denis Zanon, the director of the Tourism Bureau, took the time to discuss the French Riviera pass at length. This card, launched in 2008, allows, among other things, unlimited access to the double-decker sightseeing bus, access to the tourist trains of Nice, entries to the major sites of the Côte d’Azur, or preferential rates in numerous shops or restaurants.

The director also reaffirmed his desire to develop short stays or business tourism by improving and strengthening the reception of visitors, as well as providing more visibility for the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, both nationally and internationally.
