The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis participated in the Eurocities Awards 2016, which took place in Milan on November 18th, and presented the 27 Delvalle project in the “cooperation” category, which highlights projects involving citizens.
Christian Estrosi, President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis:
“I am proud to announce that the 27 Delvalle, which we opened in Nice last year, is among the three finalists in its category alongside the cities of Helsinki and Zaragoza, while more than 300 application dossiers were submitted to this European competition. Headquarters of connected health, the 27 Delvalle aims to promote innovation and develop new technologies in the service of health and well-being. We have set up, among other things, a start-up incubator working on connected health, an experimentation apartment for new connected objects, the headquarters of CIU Health, and the headquarters of France Silver Eco, which from Nice drives the development of the silver economy at the national and European level. Companies can also benefit from international exchange services to open their markets and expand their networks.
This award underscores the Metropolis’s desire to engage with residents to implement actions that promote their daily well-being and the independence of our seniors.
This ranking demonstrates the pioneering nature of what we have initiated in Nice in the field of innovation. Nice Côte d’Azur, a globally recognized smart city, has become the European reference metropolis in the field of connected health.”
Founded in 1986, the EUROCITIES associative network brings together nearly 140 of the largest European cities. The mission of this now well-recognized and powerful network is to support urban policies implemented by its members in terms of economic development and social policies, advocating for them to the European authorities. The influence of this network is significant since most national legislation is now tied to European regulations. The Eurocities Awards annually highlight the most innovative projects undertaken by member cities.
