The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis is modernizing its transport network services by offering a rechargeable contactless card. Whether you are an occasional or regular traveler, the contactless cards will now allow you to travel freely across the entire Lignes d’Azur network.
Thus, this more environmentally friendly and practical solution comes as a replacement for paper tickets, starting from July 1st. In order to facilitate the transition to this new system, the Lignes d’Azur authority is distributing personalized and reusable cards for free, until June 16th. All residents of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis are therefore invited to obtain them in order to easily purchase and load their journeys and subscriptions.
Travelers will have two options to validate their trips with their contactless card on the 148 bus, tram, and train lines:
- My Card: a personalized solution including the owner’s name and photo, rechargeable at will and allowing the purchase of all Lignes d’Azur tickets (occasional and subscriptions). Note that nothing changes for users already having a personal card.
- The Card: an anonymous, sharable, and rechargeable medium, allowing the purchase of occasional Lignes d’Azur tickets only (Solo, Multi Voyages, One or several days Pass). To obtain it, a refundable deposit of €2 will be required.
The cards are available at Lignes d’Azur sales points, commercial and itinerant agencies, the website www.lignesdazur.com, as well as at the transport ticket machines for anonymous cards. Users will also be able to recharge their card or those of their relatives from their smartphone, which will allow them to store and validate their tickets on Android devices.
Moreover, starting from July 1st, the Chemins de fer de Provence line will be integrated into the Lignes d’Azur network offer. Travelers will now be able to connect Libération to Saint-Isidore in just 12 minutes and reach Colomars-La Manda in 24 minutes. To meet the increased demand, four additional trains will be put into service on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Don’t miss the opportunity to get your free transport card before June 16th!
