Emmanuel Ethis, the rector of the Nice academy, is delighted by the University Côte d’Azur’s successful bid for the “IDEX” future investment program with the UCAJEDI project (Joint, Excellent & Dynamic Initiative).

58 million euros are expected over 4 years for higher education and research on the Côte d’Azur.

This IDEX is above all a recognition of the dynamism of the university, higher education institutions, and all research organizations that have come together to firmly place our azure territory towards a scientific future.

Emmanuel Ethis “wishes to congratulate the teams who worked tirelessly to present the application that best represents the challenges of higher education and research in the region.”

Christian Estrosi, President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, expressed his pride: “Our Region has now secured two IDEX awards following that of Aix-Marseille three years ago. This result is evidence of the effectiveness of our cooperation around a shared strategic vision.”

For him: “The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis has indeed become a global showcase for innovation, a life-size laboratory capable of attracting talents from both public and private research within a productive ecosystem.”

In the Nice Côte d’Azur territory, this funding will enable the development of two university research hubs: the Eco-Campus of the Plaine du Var, dedicated to the smart and sustainable city, and the Campus Pasteur in the east of Nice, dedicated to health, autonomy, and the silver economy. The third site financed by the IDEX is the Sophia-Antipolis campus specializing in ICT.
