The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis wins the State’s “Youth V” call for projects promoting educational exchanges with Cambodian youth.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) has launched a “Youth V” call for projects to support decentralized cooperation projects to promote the international mobility of young volunteers, young apprentices, or young primary and secondary school students with their teachers or education professionals.

Among all the projects submitted by the various French local authorities, 18 winners were selected, including the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, which presented a project for the professional mobility of apprentice hairdressers from its Apprentice Training Center based in Carros.

In February 2020, 12 second-year students from the Professional Hairdressing Certificate program at the CFA will fly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for a two-week educational exchange. The program will include workdays in pairs, donations of hairdressing materials to disadvantaged neighborhoods, and educational workshops with around twenty Cambodian apprentice hairdressers.

This project, with its humanitarian and educational goals, has the dual advantage of allowing the youth from both countries to learn from each other and open up new professional perspectives.
