The Nice CPC was unable to claim a victory over the French Pro B table tennis champion tonight at the Raoul-Dufy hall. Having long secured their spot in the division, the Niรงois will now take a break before returning to competition in the fall in Pro B. The Azurรฉens are already inviting their fans to the next 2012-2013 season, which will begin this fall.
The Mediterranean table tennis players were very logically defeated 4 to 1 by Argentan, who will return to Pro A next season. In the first leg, they had pulled off a small feat by securing a draw (3-3) in Orne.
Coming to the Cรดte dโAzur with their two Nigerians Segun Toriola and Monday Merotohun and their young French hopeful Ibrahima Diaw, Bayard Argentan proved to be very solid, winning the first two matches of the evening without hesitation.
The Hungarian David Zombori then gave hope to the local Nice audience, who had come to celebrate the end of the season of their flagship team, by delivering a strong performance against Merotohun. After the break, the last two matches were shorter, with Diaw and Toriola winning in three straight sets against Madrid and Zombori.
– Meanwhile, the Nice CPC invites everyone to their 20th Nice Cรดte d’Azur National Open, which will take place from June 6 to 10, 2012, in the Raoul-Dufy and Eucalyptus halls.
