The school year is coming to an end and before the holidays, it was time this Wednesday for the Nice Academy to present its various awards. The Education Prize was the most important distinction, and it was won by a girl from Cannes attending Lycée Thierry Maulnier in Nice.
The school year is ending with the upcoming baccalaureate retakes, but for thousands of high school students, the holidays have already begun. For some, it’s time for awards, invited by the Nice Academy to receive a prize. Academic success, sports achievements, and community service were the qualities required to receive one of the academic awards.
Reserved for high school students in their penultimate year, students in their first year of vocational baccalaureate, and second-year BEP and CAP students, these awards honor the success and dedication of students from the Alpes-Maritimes and Var regions. “We are proud of the success of these students who excel in various fields. These young people are examples for the school community in the region,” analyzed Claire Lovisi, rector of the Nice Academy.
Created in 1975, the Education Prize of the Nice Academy was awarded to Chloé Ramirez, a junior in the economic and social sciences track at Lycée Thierry Maulnier in Nice. “She is a model and exemplary student. She is also the president of the student council, where she is actively involved daily, as evidenced by her projects, including capoeira (Brazilian martial art), the end-of-year party, and others,” recounted the head of the high school. The young high schooler received a medal and a 500€ check from the rector. The girl from Cannes was doubly honored because she also received the city of Nice award. “It’s very rewarding and it acknowledges my efforts and motivation throughout the year. This award proves that it is possible to balance sports, study, and social life,” the awardee declared emotionally.
Other awardees: Alizée Berthe received the PACA regional award, Rémi Dislaire was honored with the award from the regional Olympic and sports committee and the regional youth and sports directorate award, and finally, Marc Heurtel Zannoni won the national school sports union (UNSS) award.
