From April 7 to 22, Nice is organizing the first edition of April in the Gardens. Through activities for both children and adults, this initiative aims to raise awareness about the protection of nature.
The greenery will dazzle as much as the azure. For two weeks, dozens of events will take root in several squares in Nice. The Promenade du Paillon (or the green corridor), more precisely the Jardin Albert 1er, will be at the heart of three themed weekends: relaxation, the (re)discovery of flora, and the launch of the โ48 hours of urban agriculture.โ
What will these last two days consist of? On April 21 and 22, the capital of the French Riviera will contribute, for the first time, to this national event. It will promote the production of fruits and vegetables in urban gardens.
April in the Gardens also involves other green spaces in the Cรดte dโAzur. First the Jardin Kirchner and Parc Gรฉnรฉral Lecuyer, where picnic areas will be set up. Then the Sacha Sosno Gardens, Villa Arson, and Maurice Mouchan, which will host various fun workshops. The Plateau des Brumes will transform into a temporary 1,000m2 landscaped structure.
โThe greening of our city continues,โ declares Christian Estrosi. During the press conference for the presentation of April in the Gardens, the mayor mentions the creation of a second green corridor in the heart of the Eco-Valley, in the Var plain. Although it may not always be associated with azure, the city of Nice will soon become the green metropolis of the Mediterranean.
