Presented by Madame Estrosi-Sassone and Professor Guerin, who are respectively in charge of social affairs and health, the municipality’s health workshop is a local public health initiative aimed at ensuring the right of access to everything that could contribute to good health.
But behind the words, what do we find? A method and actions.
The City Health Workshop is both a local initiative and a public health promotion mechanism, situated at the intersection of urban policy and health policies. Its objective is to help reduce social and territorial health inequalities.
The method is to develop cooperation between Nice’s social and health professionals (institutions, associations, private sectorโฆ), in order to implement public health actions for the local public, particularly targeting residents of the City Contract neighborhoods.
The action plan aims to improve the coherence and relevance of actions intended for the most vulnerable populations, placing prevention and health promotion at the core of the territorial project along with other public policies that contribute to the improvement of the population’s health.
Following a local health diagnosis carried out in 2012, which led to the creation of a socio-health document for the city’s 17 neighborhoods, the Local Public Health Plan (PLSP 2013-2016) was developed. This plan lists the priority public health actions conducted in the City Contract neighborhoods.
The thematic axes of the PLSP, deriving from the priorities identified in the Local Public Health Diagnosis conducted by the ASV in 2011-2012, are:
โข Access to rights and care
โข Mental health โ Psychological distress
โข Addictive behaviors โ Risk behaviors
โข Health education: Nutritional balance
โข Health education: Sport โ Health โ Well-being
โข Support for loss of autonomy
The PLSP comprises a total of 6 thematic axes with 26 general objectives broken down into 63 operational objectives, for which 113 public health actions are proposed.
For the 2017-2020 plan, the ASV’s axes remain legitimate and will be maintained and reinforced with new projects.
