The inauguration of the courts at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club study took place this Wednesday under the honorary presidency of Jacques Rivoire, accompanied by Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice.
In the presence of Christian Estrosi, Mayor of the city of Nice, Franck Balabanian, President of the Nice Lawn Tennis Club, Alizé Cornet, a member of the club, and the children of Nice TLC, the inauguration took place in a friendly atmosphere.
“The club has allowed us to save this neighborhood decade after decade. We have always made sure that nothing could be developed or built in this area to protect the club. The integrity of the club is preserved and will emerge even better since we now have quality courts,” expressed Christian Estrosi.
The Club House has been completely renovated with a quality restaurant within the premises of this prestigious location. “These courts now offer new surfaces…,” explains the president of Nice LTC.
Indeed, the project includes 4 synthetic clay courts, less expensive to maintain, a multi-activity synthetic turf for children, and a physical training area for older players.
The general philosophy of the project is to develop social connections and the friendliness of an associative club with the aim of “retaining current members and attracting new ones of all age groups,” continues Franck Balabanian.
A Renewed Lease
“I am morally a member of this club, and my priority is the club’s future,” expressed Christian Estrosi. In this context, the mayor of Nice mentioned the renewal of the lease, which is currently being drafted.
Moreover, a parking project in partnership with the neighborhood clinic, the City, and the Club will come to fruition at the end of 2019: a public parking lot with 195 spaces open to local residents and, of course, club members. This aims to give a new breath of life to the clinic and the neighborhood.
Thus, the club should be in full shape to celebrate its 130th anniversary in 2020.
