Magic comes to Nice from April 8 to 12 for the third edition of the Magic Festival. This year it will be held under the theme of diversity and wonder. Muriel Mayette-Holtz, director of the National Theater of Nice, outlined the main features of this event, which promises to dazzle both young and old.
From the outset, Muriel Mayette-Holtz emphasized the accessibility of the festival, offering attractive prices with shows at just 10 euros and a gala at only 15 euros. โIt’s an event that works, people come back and ask us for more,โ she affirmed. The objective: to make magic a family-friendly and accessible show for everyone, beyond simple sleight of hand tricks.
The festival will feature three new magic shows, a form that combines illusion and storytelling. Alexis Rouvre will open the festivities with โTout Rien,โ a poetic show playing with the perception of time and objects. The Belgian Laurent Piron will present โTim,โ a show where everyday objects come to life in unexpected ways. Finally, Thierry Collet will explore the mysteries of the digital world with a performance centered around illusions created by technology.
A magical gala with international artists
The festival’s highlight will be the grand closing gala, orchestrated by Olmac. Although the artist from Nice couldnโt attend, Muriel Mayette-Holtz announced a prestigious lineup. Among the headliners, Italian Maxime, Ukrainian Vlad, close-up artist Florian Saintvet, and performer Lรฉa Kyle, a costume change specialist, will be featured.
The festival wonโt be limited to the stage. The โMagic Boxesโ, interactive booths where the audience can discover new tricks, will make their return. A magic initiation workshop will also be offered for children. Furthermore, the festival will embrace other disciplines. There will be readings on magic and a โtrialโ of Dumbledore, reenacted by TNN actors on the theaterโs forecourt.
An event anchored in the cultural landscape of Nice
In three years, the Nice Magic Festival has become a highly anticipated event. With two thousand spectators at the first edition and then two thousand three hundred at the second, โItโs an event that counts,โ assures Muriel Mayette-Holtz. Balancing innovation and transmission, the festival aims to highlight new magic and bring together enthusiasts and the curious around an art that is continuously evolving. An unmissable event for all fans of illusion and live performance.
