Following a statement from OGC Nice Football released this Wednesday, the next home match against the Nantes Canaries will indeed take place with spectators, in compliance with health guidelines.
Finally, some good news for the Allianz Riviera season ticket holders. The capacity is still limited to 1,000 people due to the Coronavirus health crisis, but the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice will nevertheless be able to welcome spectators once again.
After playing their last two home league matches behind closed doors against Lens (2-1) and Paris Saint-Germain (0-3), OGC Nice will be able to count once more on their most loyal supporters in the stands. However, in terms of match organization, the staff mobilized is no longer counted by the authorities, as indicated in a prefectural decree received this week following statements from the Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu.
This decision is significant in the eyes of the Eagles’ supporters, who voted in a poll to return to the stadium. Therefore, 1,000 spectators will be invited this Saturday. They will be placed in designated areas while adhering to the imposed health measures.
Regarding the distribution of tickets and available seats, priority will be given to season ticket holders selected for the first two matches (Lens and Paris). To avoid a race against the clock for online ticket sales, the Nice football club will directly contact the subscribers by phone until all tickets are exhausted.
