The 21-year-old MotoGP rider, Fabio Quartararo, claimed his first-ever victory in the premier class! At the season-opening race in Jerez, the Nice-born rider, who races for the Yamaha Petronas team, started from pole position and took advantage of his main rival Marc Marquez’s off-track excursion.
France had been waiting for a victory since the 1999 Valencia Grand Prix, which was won at the time by Regis Laconi.
Quartararo thus triumphed ahead of official Yamaha rider Vinales and Dovisiso on the Ducati.
