The Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Frédéric Deloche, will present two free “Outside the Walls” concerts this Wednesday at 9 PM at the Arènes de Cimiez and this Thursday, also at 9 PM, in front of the Museum of Fine Arts.

On Wednesday, the evening will open at the Arènes de Cimiez with the Carmen Fantasy (Opus 25) by Pablo de Sarasate. The Spanish composer wrote this Fantasy for violin in 1883 based on Bizet’s opera. It notably includes adaptations of the Habanera, the Seguidilla, and the Gypsy Dance.
Violaine Darmon will be the solo violinist.
In the second part of the program, the famous Symphony No. 9 in E minor, B 178, known as the “New World” Symphony by Antonin Dvorak will be heard.

The following day, in front of the Museum of Fine Arts, the concert will start with the Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat major (K.364) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The soloists will be Judith Le Monnier on violin and Hélène Coloigner on viola.
The concert will continue with Symphony No. 5 in C minor (Opus 67), known as “Fate,” by Ludwig Van Beethoven.
