The Nice Rainbow Festival is back at Jardin Albert 1er from May 16 to 19, for another year dedicated to defending LGBTQIA+ rights.
This year, the Cรดte dโAzur LGBTQIA+ Center is organizing the second edition of the Nice Rainbow Festival from May 16 to 19, 2024. Open to everyone, this festival aims to showcase and promote LGBTQIA+ culture. Fun, friendly, and family-oriented, the Nice Rainbow Festival is intended to be a popular and inclusive gathering.
The federation is also committed to taking action against sexist discrimination and LGBTphobia through initiatives carried out during festivals. This includes several marches aimed at promoting the end of discrimination and violence against the queer community. It also seeks to facilitate dialogues on the diversity of LGBTQIA+ topics.
On the agenda: Screenings, stand-up performances, roundtables on advancements in rights, a grand march, and many other surprises. This year, the Nice Rainbow Village will open its doors in the city center, at Jardin Albert 1er on Saturday, May 18. This Village will offer numerous interactive stands throughout the day. There will be debates, festive activities, exhibitions, a heel race, and the famous โpicnic dragโ where local drag queens will perform for the audience during lunch.
On the agenda:
Saturday, May 18, 2024:
- Opening of the Nice Rainbow Village at 10:00 AM.
- A musical and joyful body sculpt demonstration by GAIS at 11:30 AM.
- From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, meet Nic Drag. Come for a picnic while enjoying a drag queen show reminiscent of a cabaret!
- The first Roundtable โ(Still) Being Gay Todayโ starting at 2:00 PM.
- From 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, attend the second Roundtable: โTransphobia in France and Europe: How to continue advancing trans rights and access to sexual and reproductive health?โ
- Heel race and handbag throwing contest between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
- To end the evening in style, from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM, a festive aperitif hosted by DJ Sรฉbastien Boumati and DJ Anna Crouse.
Sunday, May 19, 2024:
- March against LGBT+ phobias, for rights and respect, at 3:00 PM at Place Massรฉna in Nice.
