The Nice Trade in Action

Latest News

For its 10th anniversary, the Federation of Commerce of Nice and the Cรดte d’Azur (FCNA) is getting a makeover and unveiling its action plan and results. The FCNA also takes this opportunity to reveal its new visual identity and announce that it is changing its name by incorporating craftsmanship.

Created in 2004 by a group of associations and trade unions in the city, the FCNA aims to observe, animate, support, and promote commerce in Nice. Over the past ten years, this federative entity and its constituent associations have enlivened and boosted the commercial activity of the neighborhoods with all the institutional partners’ help and the support of the Office of Commerce and Craftsmanship.

Aware of the emerging issues and major projects, the ongoing evolution of consumer behavior, and increased competition, the Federation of Commerce of Nice and the Cรดte d’Azur has undertaken an evolution of its organization.

In the presence of Bernard Kleynhoff, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jean-Pierre Galvez, President of the Chamber of Trades and Craftsmanship, Auguste Verola, Deputy Mayor, and Bernard Chaix, President of the Office of Commerce and Craftsmanship, the FCNA president Philippe Desjardins presented the new logo and the new name of the Federation.

From now on, it will be called the Federation of Commerce of Nice and Craftsmanship. Its organization is evolving, changing its functioning, now having four commissions (Communication & Networks, Animation & Events, Commercial Urbanism & Projects, Regulation & Security), and it is taking on new commitments.

The FCNA has a genuine desire to support local shops and artisans, intending to help them diversify, particularly through e-Commerce (online commerce), which serves as a complementary activity to traditional commerce.

For Yvan Signouret, President of the Cassini Association, it is “important for us, merchants, to dialogue with the city.”

For his part, Auguste Verola, Deputy Mayor of Nice in charge of commerce, explains that this new form of the FCNA “should strengthen the ties” between the city and its merchants.

However, he regrets that some parts of the city, including key sectors like the pedestrian zone, Rue Paradis, or Avenue de Verdun, do not adhere to the federation.
