On the occasion of Festa Dou Vout, the people of Nice will renew the Vow to Our Lady of Graces during the solemn mass at the Church of the Vow, in the presence of the penitents’ fraternities.

At 9 AM, the procession will depart from the Church of the Vow towards Emile Zola Passage, then Saint François Square, through Burgada Passage, before returning to the Church of the Vow.
Starting from 10:30 AM, a mass will be held presided over by Bishop Sankalé.
From 11:45 AM, to renew the tradition, the forecourt of the Church of the Vow will come alive with dances from the County of Nice by Lou Caireu Niçart, followed by a cocktail offered by the City of Nice.

In 1932, Nice was threatened by a severe cholera epidemic.
The city then decided to place Nice under the protection of the Madonna of Graces by adopting a solemn vow. The city council adopted this vow during a solemn session.
If the city was spared by the epidemic, the council committed to building a new church dedicated to the Madonna of Graces and to organize an annual celebration consisting of a procession and religious ceremony.
