The Nice University Hospital Center (CHU) and the University Côte d’Azur have signed an agreement with Lebanese institutions for academic exchanges, clinical training, and research projects. This cooperation aims to enhance health skills, encourage innovation, and promote sustainable development.

A general framework agreement for international cooperation in the health sector was signed on December 13. This agreement unites the Nice CHU, the University Côte d’Azur, Saint Joseph University, and Hôtel-Dieu de France of Beirut.

The agreement provides for academic exchanges, clinical training for Lebanese health professionals, and joint research projects. The objectives include enhancing human skills, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable development.

Rodolphe Bourret, General Director of the Nice CHU, was accompanied by several officials from the institution: Dr. Hervé Cael, vice-president of the Supervisory Board, and Prof. Jacques Levraut, president of the Medical Commission of the establishment. Jeanick Brisswalter, president of the University Côte d’Azur, and Jean Dellamonica, dean of the faculty of medicine, were also present. On the Lebanese side, Nassib Nasr, general director of Hôtel-Dieu de France, and Elie Nemer, dean of the faculty of medicine of Saint Joseph University, attended.

During this visit, the Lebanese delegation met the teams from the pharmacy department, emergency services, and the officials in charge of environmental policy. These meetings helped establish the foundation for future cooperation.

Concrete Projects in Health and Research

Several avenues for collaboration were discussed. Among them is hosting Lebanese students each summer for internships in emergency services and the clinical training of health professionals. The sharing of expertise in hospital pharmacy, such as medication safety or multi-site management, is also among the priorities.

“Our exchanges will build a more innovative and sustainable health system,” stated Rodolphe Bourret. Elie Nemer emphasized that “this partnership addresses urgent needs while opening up research prospects.”

This agreement marks an important milestone. It strengthens historical ties between Nice and Beirut, united by a common language and shared values. The coming months will see the deepening of these projects.
