Create a departmental network of environmental education and training tools.

Keen to build on the experience of the Nicolas Hulot Foundation, which notably opened a School for Nature and Mankind in Brittany in 2004, the General Council has today entrusted it with the responsibility of defining the project for an exemplary environmental education and training hub, networked with all the actors in the department. School, research and development hub, place for meetings and experiences… to date, various avenues have been discussed.

This mission follows an initial study conducted at the beginning of 2007 at the request of the General Council, aimed at studying the potential of the department in terms of environmental education.

A double objective emerged from this:

nicolas-logo.jpg to ultimately create an integrated departmental network of environmental education and training tools,

nicolas-logo.jpg to promote it from a flagship site of the department, serving as a gateway to all others.

A proposed site: Fort de la Revรจre, located in the heart of the departmental natural park of the Grande Corniche.

Thanks in particular to its geographical location and its anchorage in the heart of biodiversity, the fort offers major advantages to host an international center for sustainable development. It will also be necessary for the Foundation to examine the feasibility of such a project on this site.
