Last night, the Palais de la Méditerranée hosted the annual Cavigal evening. The occasion allowed the association to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
1943 – 2018. Cavigal is celebrating its 75th anniversary in a sumptuous venue, the Palais de la Méditerranée. One could even say it is an emblematic location for an emblematic club in the Nice sports landscape. With 13 open sections, Cavigal is the largest club in the department with over 3,000 members. This is why, last night, many volunteers, former members, licensees, leaders, and athletes gathered to celebrate this event. Many local figures, led by Mayor Christian Estrosi, joined this event to offer their full support and affection for this club.
The evening began with a giant aperitif where all the guests could talk and mingle with each other. A friendly aspect. It is an important value of Cavigal. “This kind of evening allows us to bring together the 13 sections and all the people who make up this club. The leaders, the athletes, the staff, the families, and especially the volunteers. Cavigal is a spirit we want to maintain. This friendly aspect is also part of our identity,” explains Diego Noto, club president since 2009.
Everything was in place to spend a beautiful evening around the dozens of tables arranged in the hall. Speeches followed one another, as well as award ceremonies for the key figures of the club’s life. “It is also an opportunity to thank all the people who invest in Cavigal,” says Diego Notto. A beautiful conclusion from the general president, showing that Cavigal is more than just a club, it’s “a state of mind.”
