Like previous editions, it will bring together students from all over France, for a great collective adventure, for a time of celebration, for a mix of computing, communication, marketing, extreme programming, modeling, pizza, coffee, ice cream, music, and movies, says Sébastien Mosser, the event organizer for the past 5 years.

The night is also an opportunity for meetings and discussions with engineers and business leaders who come to support the students, or even give them some advice to better tackle the challenges.

The principle is very simple:

  • A topic (the same throughout France) is developed by the partner companies of the Night of Information.
The partners also define challenges, which include prizes (gift vouchers, etc.).
  • On Thursday, the 6th, at sunset, 4:35 PM, in a plenary session (the sites are connected via videoconference):
the organizers present a topic (the same throughout France) to the participants.
  • The students organize themselves into groups (at one or more sites):
They develop a project (computing, marketing, editorial, etc.) while targeting one or more challenges.

  • On Friday, the 7th, at sunrise, 8:07 AM, the developments are finalized.
The students (and the tireless teachers-researchers-engineers who spent the night with the students) will rest a bit.

  • On Friday morning, while the students sleep:
Juries gather at the different sites (one jury per challenge) and review the work done by the different teams during the night.

  • At noon, in a plenary session, the juries announce the results.

  • Friday 1 PM a buffet concludes the Night of Information 2012.
