This Thursday, January 25, 2024, the third Night of Solidarity organized by the CCAS and the city of Nice took place.
The objective of this night is to better identify the profiles and needs of homeless people. The goal was to understand what emergency and social measures need to be implemented.
Two hundred CCAS agents, partners, and associative volunteers were mobilized this Thursday evening. Among them were CCAS agents as well as representatives from the Red Cross, Secours populaire, Secours Catholique, students, and others.
In all, 26 teams were distributed throughout the city. This Thursday evening, all the volunteers deployed across the city were equipped with a questionnaire aimed at the homeless population.
Evening Progress with the Volunteers
During this evening, the volunteers aimed to question the homeless about their conditions. The questionnaire helps to record the people concerned in order to gather general information. During these meetings, the volunteers provide biscuits and bottles of water to the homeless.
This helps the homeless not to feel alone, as the goal is to understand and communicate with them. The aim is to better understand the needs of these individuals to provide the appropriate infrastructure.
Subsequently, the collected questionnaires are handed over to the CCAS to allow for a report on the number of people in need.
