The number of new Covid-19 cases has risen to nearly 9,000, setting a new record.

8,975 positive cases have been confirmed since Thursday, a significant increase compared to the previous two days when a little more than 7,000 new cases were counted in 24 hours. Additionally, 53 new clusters have been detected, making a total of 1,640 since the beginning of the epidemic, of which 1,009 have been closed to date.


The positivity rate (the proportion of the number of people who tested positive compared to the total number of people tested) continues to increase. It reached 4.5% between August 26 and September 1.

Meanwhile, testing continues to progress, with 1,029,275 tests conducted over the last 7 days, making nearly 9 million conducted in total since the beginning of the epidemic.

Furthermore, there are 473 Covid-19 patients hospitalized in intensive care (including 46 in the last 24 hours), which is 9 more than the previous day’s balance.
