While claiming that the Gym is “more than a club” might suffer from the comparison with the more famous Barça, whose motto is “más que un club,” it is nonetheless true that its identity with Nice and its region is historically strong.
Furthermore, in recent years, with the Gym Solidaire program, the club has embraced a civic and social dimension that makes it proud.
One aspect of this initiative is the establishment of a charitable fund, to which one of the most emblematic and popular players, Alassane Plea, has just joined by donating 1% of his annual salary, amounting to 14 thousand euros.
“It is a great pride for us. Beyond the financial aspect, which is not negligible, Alassane’s involvement thus validates all our civic actions, which also include employees, supporters, and partners,” rejoiced the OGC Nice club.
Alassane Plea, 25 years old, probably inspired by the initiative launched last summer by Juan Mata, is the first French footballer to take part in this approach.
An endearing young man, he has just scored perhaps the most beautiful goal of his career: one of the heart!!!
He deserves a standing ovation!!!
