Created in 1948, Olympic Day takes place every year on Sunday, June 23. This date marks the birth of the modern Olympic Movement and the foundation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC): on June 23, 1894, delegates from 12 countries gathered at the Sorbonne in Paris unanimously voted to support Pierre de Coubertinโs proposal to revive the Olympic Games.
More than a sporting event, this day is organized to promote Olympic values worldwide based on the three pillars “move, learn, and discover.”
On this symbolic day, the National Sports Museum joins the event and offers numerous entirely free activities.
