The Olympic days of CDOS06 for schoolchildren: nearly 2,000 young children involved

Latest News

The Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee is organizing three Olympic days with schoolchildren.

This event, driven by the IOC, is a real opportunity to spread the Olympic values and will give a preview of what the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris will be like.

This annual event features physical and sports activities, workshops on manual or cultural crafts, and meetings with athletes.

For Philippe Manassero, president of CDOS06: “The important thing is to pass on an exhilarating philosophy of life through sports and educational practices, combining in a balanced whole the qualities of the body, will, and mind while communicating social, societal, and civic values.”

These events will take place on Monday, June 18 at the Mont Gros Football Stadium in La Gaude (for school groups from La Gaude and St Jeannet), Tuesday, June 19 at the Sports Complex in St Sauveur sur Tinée (for the school and college of St Sauveur sur Tinée), and Thursday, June 21 at the Sports Complex in
Touët sur Var (for schools from the Alpes Azur community of communes, which includes 12 villages).

The activity program will run from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and includes a ceremonial moment, the declaration of opening, the oath, various sports activities, and the awards ceremony.
