The Opera of Nice has raised the curtain.

The 2021-2022 lyrical season of the Nice opera is expected to be a renewal, a return to normal life where musical art would regain its expression with an audience deprived of music, concerts, and opera due to the health crisis.

The director of the Nice opera, Bertrand Rossi, a name not unknown to music lovers in Nice, will lead the orchestra alongside Daniele Callegari, associated with Lionel Bringuier, also well known to the Nice audience. We must not forget the ballet director Éric Vu An; “there is no opera without ballet,” as enthusiast Tony Pardina, who was the head of this ballet company, used to say.
The 2021-2022 programming offers us 15 operas this year.

This article is not about discussing them in detail. The intention of the organizers is to inspire the younger audience’s interest in lyrical art, and “Come with your cuddly toy” is a great initiative to introduce them to music!
A lyrical stage also includes concerts with morning musicales, recitals in churches, and chamber music. The budding dancers are not forgotten, with ballets where the body seems to defy the laws of nature with the bodily arabesques of a ballet. We must also highlight the operetta, where two major works from the repertoire will be offered to us.

The rich program is a response to this pandemic, a determination not to give up. Culture is still alive, and you, the audience, are the actors in it.
