Today, the Paul Augier hospitality high school will be the stage for the official launch of the centenary celebrations of the Nice establishment. The event will be held in the presence of many elected officials and dignitaries, under the high patronage of Vincent Peillon, the Minister of National Education, accompanied by Mrs. Sylvia Pinel, the Minister of Craftsmanship, Commerce, and Tourism.
Numerous segments are on the program, including the inauguration of the School Centennial Exhibition by the Center for Tourism History Studies in the Alpes-Maritimes (with the help of municipal and departmental archives), a cocktail featuring Japanese students from the Hokutobunka Academy, and the Signing of the Agreement for the publication of 10,000 deluxe edition books related to the Centennial.
One segment will be particularly moving with the Planting of an olive tree, a symbol of the Centennial, as it is meant to be the tree of peace. However, the atmosphere is not as peaceful around this event due to the likely absence of the Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur Metropolis, Christian Estrosi, who is certainly invited but only as a spectator. The PACA region, organizing the event, did not plan a speech for the Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur Metropolis.
It is difficult to imagine that, without any opportunity to speak, the Nice official might attend the festivities. It is equally logical to wonder why the city’s chief magistrate is not allowed to express himself during the centenary ceremony of a high school located within the city and Metropolis he is in charge of?
Despite the interventions from the Rectorate and the negotiations between offices, nothing has changed, and as of last night, Christian Estrosi’s attendance at the festivities was anything but certain.
What a pity, sometimes the smallest issues can spoil the most beautiful achievements!
