Sure, confident, precise, and sharp, Michaël’s DJ sets resemble him and make an impact on the dancefloor. The seasoned clubbers are not mistaken. “Desire,” the latest production from the gifted DJ, fills the air, hits follow one another, and the crowd is electrified by the atmosphere of what is already shaping up to be one of the finest nights of this Riviera summer.
I quickly get confirmation of this from Alain Pistolési, who is in charge, among other things, of public relations at the Pearl, and whom I meet in the VIP section: “Tonight we have about 3,000 people crowding the dancefloor, it feels good, and it reminds us of the real ‘night fever’ that La Siesta has been known for almost 50 years.”
Yes, the legendary disco will celebrate its half-century next year, and judging by the atmosphere, the lady is doing more than well!! No doubt, tonight La Siesta shines in the firmament of music, with its DJ who knows better than anyone how to decode the desires of this beautiful clientele who knows how to have fun and intends to dance till the end of the night.
When the first notes of Eric Prydz’s essential “Pjanoo” start playing, I check my watch for the first time in the evening. 4:30 already?? “Yes, and at 5 we must stop,” Alain Pistolési confides to me. “Not easy when the nightclub is still full, but we must respect the hours, it’s imperative!” What’s next at the Pearl?? Arno Cost will be heating up the decks on next August 15th, and until the end of the month the nights promise to be hot! Especially for the closing night, because Pearl under the open sky means summer, the rest of the year we dance inside, with an unbeatable sea view, and always the best DJs at the decks!
A quick lap around the dance floor before I go, yet I take the time to thank Michaël and Mc Adrian for their remarkable performance. The prodigy’s plans?? After closing the “Love Summer Tour” in Bilbao at the end of the month, a rapid return on September 4th at the Queen in Paris is upcoming.
An appointment has already been set for the summer of 2010 at La Siesta, because 50 years is worth celebrating!!
