The photographs of Jean Belvisi exhibited in Eze

Eze hosts the exhibition “Taking to the Sea to Look at the Land in the Alpes-Maritimes” at the Maison de la nature of the Départemental Natural Park of the Grande Corniche until October 13.

Photographer Jean Belvisi traveled the coastline by kayak to present this exhibition of 151 photos. Spread over 35 sails, the images aim to raise awareness of the environmental challenge while showcasing the iconic places of the region. Île Saint Honorat in Cannes, the Villa Maria Serena in Menton, and the Château de l’Horizon in Vallauris are some of the landscapes captured by Jean Belvisi.

The southern region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur is an exceptional biodiversity reserve with a variety of very different habitats. This fragile alliance between land and sea endures both climatic and human pressures. The coastline is densely populated, especially in summer with tourism, which leads to the degradation of some natural environments. The photographer managed to capture the remnants of spaces and the areas still protected from mass tourism.
