Parc Phoenix is hosting the “4ร4” exhibition by the PHOTON collective until December 20 in the Florรฉal and Prairial rooms.
“4ร4” is the theme chosen by the photographer collective: the idea is to express, in four square photos, each in a 40ร40 format, a theme chosen by the photographer.
The photographer is free to interpret this composition as they see fit, in both a geometric and a musical sense.
The 4 photos of this “concerto” thus narrate, each with its own music โ in a subtle interplay of echoes, variations, even dissonances and oppositions โ a story that needs to be heard.
These magical squares enchant. These four parcels create a space where the gaze wanders.
Where is the beginning? Where is the end? Each person will need to interpret the photos, to go beyond the fracture lines that form borders to explore and decipher the artist’s landscape and, who knows, invent one’s own.
Four by four.
Understanding the same through the many. Bypassing the essential solitude of photography, breaking its unity by choosing a fragmented vision, a fan-like vision. A multi-faceted composition, intersecting with four entries, four attempts to better capture the mystery, four precise measures that are being prepared.
Because the object, the same, resists, it must be countered with this poetic diffraction. Like the four seasons of a thing. Bringing to light, openly, the work as it unfolds: one approaches the object, changes the angle of view, tries, invents harmonies, connections.
In doing so, what is highlighted are the numerous small variations. Focusing on the gradual, the progressive unveiling rather than a sudden assertion. Preparing the trap, subtly.
These 26 photographers of the Photon Collective enjoyed preparing these subtle traps to, in the original sense, captivate the eye. Will you let yourself be caught?
