The President, Marco Lombardi, along with the Board of the association, wanted to organize a quality program by inviting Professor Romain Rainero from the “Università degli Studi di Milano” to the Faculty of Political Science, who is known in Nice as the head of the Leonardo Chair at the CUM. A conference is proposed to revisit the Piedmontese roots and their traditions: “A Hundred Years of Piedmontese Emigration to France.”

It will also be an opportunity to recall a shared history among many inhabitants of Nice since it is well-known that the immigration from the Italian Piedmont was one of the oldest and most numerous in the capital of the French Riviera. The academician Max Gallo, in his famous and unforgettable trilogy ‘The Bay of Angels,’ admirably relayed the history of one of these families.

The event is scheduled for this Saturday, May 16, at 6:00 PM at the Michelangelo hall of the General Consulate of Italy, at 72 Boulevard Gambetta.

The program will continue the next day at 11:00 AM, still at the Michelangelo hall, with the Badia Corale from Val Chisone who will offer folk songs in Piedmontese dialect, belonging to the historical and cultural heritage of this cross-border region.

This concert is organized by the Comites (Committee of Italians Abroad) of Nice with the support of the Government of the Piedmont Region.
