Enthusiasts or not of this skill game… aged from 7 to 77… come and discover or rediscover Pilo, a street game symbolizing cultural values of the Nice region in a friendly and festive atmosphere… Registrations for the championships are open to all players…
Pilo is played in teams of two, with the aim of making the “Pilo” (an old coin with a hole where a paper shuttlecock is inserted) fall into one of the opposing team’s circles. Players need a good dose of inventiveness, some foot juggling techniques, and an enthusiastic audience… to the wise be advised…
A retrospective photo exhibition of the twenty years of Pilo World Championships in Coaraze will be open to all visitors. The history of Pilo in images!
The closing concert of this 20th edition will offer a lineup of local artists in different styles, from the Nice rock of Paures Nautres, to the reggae ska of Sinké Zakéou, and the frenzied percussion rhythms and samba of Bati Cauda.
Sinké Zakéou is the meeting of 8 musicians from diverse backgrounds, an adventure with eclectic influences, a desire to share, to create a universe without norms around festive atmospheres. Concentrated on punchy brass trends, defying norms and clichés… The expression of moods is felt within a music blending styles, a progressive and syncopated cocktail, and if ska is the ancestor of reggae, Sinké goes the opposite way to redraw the genre… Zakéou version.
Formed in 2003, Paures Nautres claims a very strong attachment to culture, traditions, and the Nissart language through the amazing thrill that is rock. This assertion of identity is a natural reaction to years of relentless “Witch Hunts” that, for more than a century and a half, have been bent on destroying our cultural heritage. Ahura Basta!
