The players of OGC Nice handball win upon their return to competition.

Latest News

It had been nearly eight weeks since the OGC Nice women’s handball team had played an official match. For their return to competition, they defeated Mérignac (33-31).

Since November 16, the OGC Nice handball team had been on a break. Between the end-of-year holidays and the international break due to the European Championship, the players hadn’t participated in an official match. It was at home, for the 8th round of the Ligue Butagaz Energie, that Clément Alcacer’s players made their return to official play. Facing Mérignac, the bottom team in the league, the task didn’t seem insurmountable. However, the Girondines had ended their 2024 year with a nice home victory against Celles in the French Cup.

Despite a sluggish start to the match, the Nice team managed to equalize before halftime. In a very tight game, OGC Nice handball ultimately won (33-31) by creating a small gap in the final minutes.

The next match for the team from the Côte d’Azur is this Wednesday, January 8, at 8:00 PM in Toulon’s arena.
