Tomorrow, Friday, September 26, the port of Nice will host the second edition of the Nice Oktoberfest. Concerts, entertainment, and food trucks will enliven a free evening open to all.
From 6:30 PM, the Port of Nice will embrace the Bavarian atmosphere. The Esplanade de la Douane will be transformed into a meeting place for the second edition of the Oktoberfest in Nice. As last year, the event will be free and open to the entire public.
The festival will follow the Munich tradition while being rooted in the Mediterranean setting. The choice of the port is not accidental. It’s a popular space, conducive to friendliness and exchanges. Everyone can come together, whether to listen to music, share a meal, or simply enjoy the ambiance.
The evening is intended to be family-friendly. Children can participate in a face-painting workshop with French and German colors, organized by the FAM school. Adults will not be left out, with stands dedicated to cultural discovery and European exchanges.
Between music, discoveries, and flavors
The evening’s program is designed to bring together a wide audience. Two concerts will set the tone. First, the group Boxgalopp. Its musicians will come with their acoustic instruments and a repertoire inspired by Bavarian traditions. Popular rhythms will be revisited, in an atmosphere that promises to be invigorating.
Then comes Fourkicks, a pop-rock band. Its four members are used to creating a festive atmosphere during their concerts. Their energy and accessible melodies should appeal to both rock enthusiasts and those who are there to discover.
In parallel, several stands will offer entertainment and information. The Franco-German Cultural Center of Nice, the Franco-German Youth Office, and the City of Nuremberg will be present. The public will be able to discover the richness of exchanges between the two countries through fun activities.
The EUROPE DIRECT Center Nice Côte d’Azur will also run workshops. The objective: to raise awareness of the opportunities offered by the European Union, especially for young people interested in mobility. These activities will give the festival a civic and European dimension.
Gastronomy will take a prominent place. Food trucks will set up their mobile kitchens along the esplanade. They will offer typical Bavarian dishes, as well as Niçoise specialties. Enough to satisfy varied tastes and encourage exchanges around the tables.
Beyond music and food, the event highlights the idea of meeting. Large tables, clinking glasses, and impromptu discussions will be an integral part of the evening. In a spirit akin to great popular festivals, everyone can find their place, regardless of age or origin.
The organizers remind us that the Nice Oktoberfest is not just a celebration of beer. It is also a symbol of fraternity. The German tradition is exported for one evening to remind us that European cultures can intersect and enrich each other.
