This Tuesday, the poster for the world’s largest film festival was unveiled.
To illustrate its 75th edition which will take place from May 17 to 28, the Cannes Festival has decided to use an image symbolizing โa poetic celebration of the ephemeral and freedomโ. The final scene from โThe Truman Showโ, released in 1998, was chosen.
In this cult film featuring Jim Carrey, a man named Truman unknowingly stars in a TV show about his own life. His existence is condemned to serve the pleasure of the filmmakers and viewers until the day he discovers the deception and decides to escape. The festival’s poster highlights the end of the film when Truman leaves this imprisoning world for good.
Steps leading to revelation. A poetic celebration of freedom. An ascent towards the promise of renewal. From Tuesday, May 17 to Saturday, May 28, the Cannes Festival celebrates its 75th edition. Here is the poster! #Cannes2022
