The Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of Christophe Mirmand, the current Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes, to the position of Prefect of the Corsica region and Corse-du-Sud. He had been in Nice since August 1, 2012.
During his short tenure at the Prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes, Prefect Mirmand left a mark of his commitment and insightfulness.
In the field of security, with the Local Security and Crime Prevention Contract, particularly the new Territorial Strategy, or through the dossier of the National Interest Operation of the Plaine du Var โ Eco-Valley, and in the organization of the upcoming Francophonie Games.
Christian Estrosi thus praised the forthcoming departure of Christophe Mirmand from Nice: “A high-quality state official, a man of consultation and listening who, I am convinced, will represent the French state well in his new role.”
The President of the General Council, Eric Ciotti, also wanted to express his gratitude to Prefect Mirmand “for his commitment to the structuring projects of the department, notably those in economic matters and especially the implementation of the inter-communalities charter.”
