The distribution of sanitary masks is turning into a saga with several actors claiming to be the “saviors of humanity” and putting the main accused in the spotlight: the State.
The situation has taken on the air of a competition, each shouting “it’s me, it’s me”. Ridicule does not kill, as the saying goes.
With the “administrative” language that is its own, the Prefecture returns for the second time during this period to the argument (situation as of May 4).
In order to respond with numbers to unrestrained claims: “nearly 4 million protective masks have been distributed by the State to health establishments and professionals, as well as to the medical-social sector in the Alpes-Maritimes. These distributions add to those carried out by the State for its own services as well as for the emergency services.”
In the preamble, the statement specifies that “the State ensures the weekly distribution of surgical and FFP2 protective masks to health establishments, medical-social establishments, as well as to independent health professionals and home help services. This distribution is carried out through territorial hospital groups and wholesale distributors.”
Health and medical-social establishments have thus benefited from nearly 3 million masks.
Independent health professionals (doctors, medical biologists, nurses, pharmacists, midwives, physiotherapists), home help employees, and family caregivers have received nearly 900,000 masks.
More specifically, the territorial hospital group was delivered:
– On March 20, with 514,000 surgical masks and 56,500 FFP2 masks distributed to public and private health establishments and EHPAD (nursing homes);
– On March 27, with 426,200 surgical masks distributed to public and private health establishments, medical-social establishments (for the disabled and elderly), sanitary transporters, and home nursing services, and 26,500 FFP2 masks distributed to public and private health establishments;
– On April 6, with 505,000 surgical masks and 58,000 FFP2 masks distributed to public and private health establishments, medical-social establishments (for the disabled and elderly), home nursing services, and sanitary transporters;
– On April 11, with 10,084 surgical masks and 59,500 FFP2 masks distributed to public and private health establishments, medical-social establishments (for the elderly and disabled), home nursing services and associated structures;
– These same last structures benefited from a fifth and sixth distributions: on April 20, with 581,400 surgical masks and 53,000 FFP2 masks; on April 27, with 536,550 surgical masks and 66,500 FFP2 masks.
Independent health professionals (doctors, medical biologists, nurses, pharmacists, midwives, physiotherapists), home help employees, and family caregivers also benefited from the delivery of 217,550 surgical masks between April 7 and 9.
These same professionals, along with medical laboratory technicians and medical electroradiology operators, received new allocations through pharmacies via wholesale distributors: 25,650 FFP2 masks and 135,600 surgical masks between April 16 and 20, 31,800 FFP2 masks and 192,000 surgical masks between April 22 and 24. A delivery of 194,100 surgical masks and 32,050 FFP2 masks is currently in progress for these same professionals.
