The President of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee, Denis Masseglia, awarded Ivan Coste-Manière, President of the Regional Committee (CROS) of the Côte d’Azur, with the Gold Medal for Youth, Sports, and Community Involvement, conferred by the Ministry of Sports and its Minister Laura Flessel. This decision was made unanimously by friends, Philippe Manassero (5 Cdos of Alpes-Maritimes), Jean Vintzel, Pierre Cambréal, André Leclercq, the cornerstones of the azure Olympic movement.

Ivan Coste-Manière has been a leader for 40 years. His career started in various positions within the Grasse Athletic Club, of which he has always been a member and was a high-level athlete for 16 years. Ivan became President at 19, succeeding Jean Garcia, President of Cannes, in the records of youngest Presidents in France. The club even became the 29th French club, a fantastic achievement with international meetings… in Perdigon.

Alongside sporting practices, there was the “classic” or even academic path in the federal world: judge, coach, leader, and today one of the very few third-degree expert leaders in the country. He also assumed early responsibility within the Departmental Committee of Athletics of Alpes-Maritimes, where he is still President, and the Côte d’Azur League, which he led to merge with that of Provence and again is still a member of the Managing Committee.

Step by step, recognitions have followed, as it has now been 4 Olympiads that Ivan has been part of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee… and 3 within the Regional Olympic and Sports Committee of the Côte d’Azur, where he is the current President.

To date, the Olympic movement has endorsed and inducted him into the National Olympic Academy of France, and he was recently elected director of the French Circle Pierre de Coubertin and Vice-President of the Francophone Association of Olympic Academies… not to mention other presidencies in the aeronautical and humanitarian fields.

In sight, Paris 2024, the Games with Marseille and Nice, cities which will host some of the events….

More exciting projects to stay in… Olympic shape.
