Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, will bestow the National Order of Merit on Professor Albert Marouani, on Friday, February 3, 2012, at 5:30 PM, at the Grand Chรขteau de Valrose Theater in Nice.

Albert Marouani has been President of the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis since April 2004. On this occasion, both his investment in favor of research and his quest for the transmission of knowledge are being honored.
A Professor in Economic Sciences at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, a researcher in macroeconomics and international finance, he has also held several administrative and scientific responsibilities within the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis during his career.
An international expert, he participates in numerous European and international cooperation activities. He has been involved in long-term missions in Tunisia or Burundi, for example. He has participated in the implementation of integrated action programs with Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey, Israel, Brazil, and Mexico. The European training and research programs “Med-Campus” (1994 and 1995) and “High-Level Scientific Conference” (2002) were developed under his responsibility.
His current research fields are rich and focused on themes such as the dynamics of financial systems and the globalization process, financial liberalization and regulation, financial market crises and instability, regional integration processes, trade liberalization, free trade agreements, adjustment policies, exchange rate policies, the economies of Mediterranean countries and developing countriesโฆ
Albert Marouani is already an Officer of the Order of Academic Palms.
