This edition, peppered with musical and friendly animations, ended in jubilation as the finish line was crossed under the cheers of a large crowd. This edition is marked by records, as it also sets a new participation record with 7,537 registrants, which should allow the Prom’Classic to maintain its place as the number one 10 km race in France!

Pleasant temperatures, an azure blue sky, and nonexistent wind created ideal race conditions. Christelle DAUNAY set a new record for the distance by crossing the finish line in 32’26’’.

At 10:00 AM, several thousand spectators gathered to encourage the competitors, who set off in 5 waves accompanied by pacemakers. In terms of results, it is the Frenchman James THEURI who wins this 14th edition of the Prom’Classic in 28’50’’. Among the women, Christelle DAUNAY, the event record holder in 2008 with 32’44’’, replicates the feat this year by completing the race in 32’26’’.

On the women’s side, at the starting line, the favorite Christelle DAUNAY is ready to break her record. Alongside her, Aline CAMBOULIVES and Fanny PRUVOST (with a personal best of 34’16’’ for 10km) are ready to compete. From the first kilometers, Christelle DAUNAY pulls ahead, distancing herself from her main rivals. She seizes the first place and at the same time the Prom’Classic record in 32’26’’. Aline CAMBOULIVES finishes in second place in 34’56’’, followed by Fanny PRUVOST in 34’57’’.

Noteworthy is the first place in the regional ranking for Hanna JANTUNEN, from the ASPTT Nice Club.

Among the men, it is the Frenchman James THEURI who clinches first place in 28’50’’ thanks to his tenacity, which proved to be rewarding. It is mid-race when he escapes from the leading trio to set his pace, giving no respite to his competitors. At km 8, Stéphane LEFRAND (French Marathon Champion 2012 at the Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes) and Abdelatif MEFTAH slightly catch up, forcing him to push his limits to finish in first place in 28’50’’, followed by Stéphane LEFRAND at 28’55’’ and Abdelatif MEFTAH at 29’14’’.

The first regional, Abdelhakim ZILALI, finishes in 29’48’’ in 11th place overall.

The organizers invite everyone to the 15th edition on January 5, 2014.
