The Provence Azure Pole and the Social and Solidarity Economy

Latest News

To better promote and recognize these companies and share their values, and to encourage all those who wish to venture into this sector, the Pรดle Azur Provence participated in the Month of the Social and Solidarity Economy.

Talking about the Social and Solidarity Economy refers to cooperatives, mutuals, associations, companies involved in economic integration through activity, foundations, and more.

More broadly, it involves all companies that are currently engaged in creating jobs and wealth, consuming and doing business differently, by placing humans and cooperation at the center of their practices, while taking better account of women, men, and the environment…

In the Pรดle Azur Provence, these companies are present in all sectors of activity, from banking to culture, through commerce, personal services, construction, etc., and actively contribute to the creation and maintenance of local employment.

For associations, foundations, mutuals, and cooperatives alone, we can count:

– 499 companies, including 180 employers, which represents 8% of the private employer establishments in the territory
– 1,955 salaried jobs, equal to 11.6% of private sector employees (equivalent to the total number of jobs in construction)
– 38.8 million euros in gross salaries paid (which accounts for 10% of the gross salaries paid by the private sector).
